Añelo Oasis
A new investment opportunity building livable homes for Vaca Muerta
Sponsored By:

AÑELO OASIS
Vaca Muerta is one of the largest shale energy formations globally. The Vaca Muerta ecosystem currently employs approximately 45,000 workers, while Añelo has fewer than 8,000 available beds.
Over 25,000 workers commute daily from Neuquén city, spending up to 2.5 hours each way.
It is the:
- 2nd largest shale gas reserve
- 4th largest shale oil reserve
- 16 billion barrels of oil
- 308 trillion cubic feet of natural gas
- Estimated remaining productive life: ~40 years
- Forecast capacity of up to 1 million barrels per day by 2030
- Breakeven costs as low as $30–$40 per barrel

The Location
Añelo is the closest service town to the Vaca Muerta fields:
- Located in Neuquén Province
- 110 km from Neuquén city
- 10 minutes from oil fields
- 1 minute from the main provincial highway

144 residential units

Mix of 1-2 bedroom apartments

Built for long-term rental with direct vehicle access to the fields
MACRO OUTLOOK
5.5% GDP growth projected for 2025
Primary fiscal surplus of $1.43 billion
Economy growth of 3.9% in Q3 2024
Monthly inflation decline from 25% in December 2023 to 2.2% in January 2025
THE DEMAND
Demand for housing in Añelo is driven by long-term structural factors rather than short-term commodity cycles.
Workforce growth in Vaca Muerta continues to outpace residential development, creating sustained demand for compliant, durable housing. Much of the existing supply consists of temporary container units that lack insulation, weather resistance, and long-term habitability.
Labor unions and regulators are actively removing substandard housing from circulation, further tightening supply. As a result, oil and gas operators increasingly prioritize professionally managed residential developments that meet safety and quality standards.
Given the distance from Neuquén city and the operational inefficiency of daily commuting, companies and workers alike show a strong preference for permanent housing located directly in Añelo.
